My Mother
You were the very first person I saw
The very first person to hug me
The very first person to kiss me
You were the person who led me to school
the one whom I really adored
You took me to playgrounds,
to parties,
to sleepover slumbers for two
You gave me the knowledge to help me
You gave me the courage to speak,
You gave me a reason to fight for
and the will to turn the other cheek.
So I want you to know,
before I leave home,
how much I love you
how much I care
how much I wish
I was still your little baby bear.

So sweet. Has your mom read it? I'm sure she'd love it.
