I Know What It's Like
I know what it’s like
To be homeless
Not allowed to step foot in the place I grew up
I know what it’s like
To be stabbed,
Right in the heart and even in the back
I know what it’s like
To be starving
Wanting more and more knowledge but no one will tell you
I know what it’s like
To be abused
Every time you talk, I feel your slap in the face
I know what its like to be human
To be lied to, forgotten, made fun of, loved, hated, walked on, pushed away, let down, forgiven, blamed, remembered, yelled at, stood up for, and broken
The one thing I don’t know what it’s like
Is being you
