Everlasting sleep
I’m on my way to an everlasting sleep
Forever fighting, forever weak
Feeling like I will never come back;
You told those lies so matter-of-fact
If I sleep, my time will stand still
While yours will move along against your will
No, this isn’t what I would have chosen
But you’ve worn me down, and now I’m broken
Fighting the line between here and gone
I won’t wake until well-after dawn
You’re not here to keep my smiling,
So why sit here and continue lying?
This battle will be one I cannot take
Unless you give me a reason to stay awake
