Man of Many Faces
I look into your eyes
Always different,
Ever-changing.
Stark white skin:
Your only consistent feature.
You lured me.
One day with hair blazing red
The next a suave flaxen blonde.
My Man of Many Faces.
I waited seven years for a name.
I got several:
Ziggy,
Duke,
Aladdin,
Tom.
All were you.
None were you.
Just your many faces.
Though your years succeed my own
My dreams are plagued with you.
Master of Illusion,
Gazing through your crystal ball.
Commander of Words,
Spinning songs delicate as glass,
Rich as gold.
Always different,
Ever-changing.
My Man of Many Faces
