The Forest of my Day
As I listen,
The leaves rustle,
And the sun glistens.
The trees sway,
And the wind blows.
The forest is the beauty of my day.
As the water rushes down the river,
My eyes twinkle,
And my body shivers.
A fish settles in the pond’s bay.
The forest is the beauty of my day.
I paint a picture in my head,
Of a cardinal in its nest,
Colored with soft reds,
It flies away,
Chirping as it goes along.
The forest is the beauty of my day.
The frogs croak,
Playing a lovely melody,
That finally broke.
They were nowhere to be seen,
Hidden in the trees,
But if you are keen,
You can notice them in the deep forest brush.
The forest is the beauty of my day.
As the sky turns gray,
I take a last look,
At what was once a beautiful day.
