If Only
I wish I could I love you like Ive never been hurt
I wish I could hold you like Ive never been pushed away
Now if only my past was written in pencil
Id erase and write in purple pen
But my past has taught me so much, so then again I'd keep it
Now if only i could erase the hurt, the thing that keeps me from loving you I really want to.
So I sit here...
And I wish I could tell you all of this, but these lips that have been told to shut up and have been marked wrong, are scared.
They're trembling as tears strike them like lightening
And my hear is pounding like thunder, thick in my ears.
My lip twitches, And I whisper with a heavy throat, "I love you"
One day I'll actually tell you this. One day I'll love you like I've never been hurt.
