I reject your reality and substitute my own.

I count you: a number of twenty and three.
You can be counted, and are therefore not like me.
I am boisterous yet delicate in all my states.
Affection for me is something you need not contemplate.
Simply look upon me and feel the desire.
My name is all around you, no need to inquire.
At a reasonable pace, you'll be running by dawn.
Where to? You'll be chasing me, but you wont have to run long.
In a fit of confusion you will strike me in rage.
You will be unaware as i slowly construct your cage.
Thrashing is of no help, nor any means of demolition.
The cage is built of my own volition.
This is habitual now, as it happens time and again.
I can accommodate your lusts but not pardon you of your sin.
Your world is teeming with life, you don't need mine to strive.
Though I appreciate your comments and appreciation of my drive.
I leave you now, as I have many times before.
You still come back, knowing whats in store.

Great, great job. Only thing that bothers me is that lack of an apostrophe in "what's" in the last line, but I'm sure that was just a typo. Awesome, keep writing!
