For You
I'm not gonna use an old cliche.
I make that promise now.
My love isn't like a river,
even though it runs deep and forever.
It's not like the ocean,
even though it's eternal and everlasting.
My love isn't even like the air we breathe,
even though it's pure and healing.
No, all these are preowned and manufactured
like the love of everyone else.
And I don't love like everyone else.
My love is however,
like a Saturday morning.
One where you're out of town
and the only contact we have is a message.
But I still daydream about
sweet things...like moving your
hair out of your eyes,
or whispering I love you- just so you have to listen harder-
right in your ear.
Or timing our kiss for the day we say our vows,
or kissing your nose when I have the perfect chance to kiss
your lips, just to show that making out isn't the only thing on my mind.
or doing stupid things...
Like winking at you when there's no reason to.
Or making stupid jokes when I can tell you're about to cry.
Or telling you about my past like it were a book and creating chapters for each segment of my life...
Or kissing your hand like you were a princess...
Because you are.
You're my damsel in distress...
My fairy-tale princess...
My everlasting love...
My heartbeat...
My life support...
You're my reason for reason... Wait no cliches...
You're my clumsy dancer...
My Heart enhancer,
Cool like the wind
and air.
You move so sweetly
so quickly
so ... many times do I find that can't find the words to describe us...
But I suppose that's what makes us, us.
