Feelings After a Good Book
Have you ever read the best book
But are left hallow and broken inside?
Crushed that you aren’t part of the characters’ lives anymore
And that their entire life
Never even happened
And you are pleading
To the writer
To keep on writing
Because it’s so powerful
That you start crying
Like a little girl
Whose favorite pet died
How can the emptiness be filled?
Do you read something else?
And leave their lives behind?
I refuse to forget
How I Laughed
Cried
And was struck dumb
Unable to speak
Because the words were so powerful
It’s hard to believe someone actually created
And wrote
All 360 pages
And each word,
Sentence,
Paragraph,
Had a meaning
Some I didn’t quite understand
But some I felt came right from my own thoughts and feelings
Now I don’t know what to do
But sit down and think and cry
About this wonderful story
