Dreams
Once there was a girl
Who had the voice of angels.
Once there was a boy
Who painted the world.
They desperately wanted
To chase their dreams,
But were held back
By the objections of their parents.
One day the girl met the boy
And they looked at each other
For a long time.
Then, the boy smiled
And invited her in for a snack.
Together, they sat by the window
With a glass of milk and cookies.
They stared out at the
Clear, blue sky,
Wondering if someday
They can be as free as the birds.
Their dreams felt so faraway,
But they wished and wished
And prayed and prayed
For a day when
They can spread their wings
And fly into the limitless sky.
