I am who I am, Your approval isnt needed

When i was younger,
I would wait until late,
My parents would say that i couldn't stay up any longer,
I would trudge to bed and lay there awake,
Listening until the dawn of day,
Then i would run through the house looking and searching, The baskets were hidden in hard places to find, The candy and treasures I liked to hide,
The slowly but surely it all became clear,
The Easter bunny would not come again next year.

This poem is a true story of how you grow up from young and ignorant to older and more mature.
