Corruption
We See it in the media
We even see it when we open an encyclopedia
All the things we know
Everything we’ve seen,
Its all been scrubbed squeaky clean
Only on occasion do we see
The gritty truth of reality.
Politicians taking bribes
Dictators taking lives
Priests selling lies
Corrupted are their souls
Shadowed figures influence polls
We call them corporations
But they control nations
They manipulate the world
And we do as we’re told
Now break their hold,
And undo the fold-
Of the tapestry of lies.
The Priests and pastors we trust
Their image explodes in dust
The vows of celibacy they take
We watch them break
When we see them on the news
Being accused
For crimes against which their God
Throws them in the fire.
The children that they raped
Stand and testify and say
The Vatican must pay
But they can’t be touched
But hey
That’s the price we pay
For letting the corrupt have their way.
