I’m praying
For your voice
To ring loud in my ears
Though you’re exchanging
Words with the wind.
You have been all this time,
While I’ve been praying.
I’m not a factor
Or a variable
I’m just a girl
Who prays.
You’re listening
For the sound of wind chimes dancing
In the distance.
You’re facing the west
Feeling the breeze conform
To your shape.
She’s your summer breeze
And all you’ve ever known.
If I ever happen
To cross your mind;
If you ever think of me
Think of the girl who prays
On her knees.
