Malicious Monster
Heat… scorch… destroy…
It eats all, doesn’t discriminate, its hungry
A monster you can’t defeat
It continues to steal all you’ve worked for…
Reduced all you’ve loved to ash
Nothing distinguishable by shape, color or texture
Coldly impassionate… irony in its finest
Shock… mesmerized … panic …
It laughs as it continues to feast
Casting a spell over all that dare to watch
Medusa in all its theoretical meanings…
Stone statue victims, eyes rolling in terror
Stuck staring upon something hideously beautiful
Dark… can’t breathe… drowning on poisoned air….
It casts a shadow, though it’s made of light
The snuffer of life, the giver of new existence
Injustice and justice given by the same ember
The future it leaves behind lifeless and alive
blistering… rebirth… the end
…or the beginning?
