One Day, It Will Happen
My life has always been about bouncing between
Chasing every unattainable dream I could dream.
Wishing on four leaf clovers, on 11:11, on shining stars.
But my clock was slow, and the light was from mars,
And before I could say to my wishes, “farewell,”
The wind caught the clover and one leaf fell.
It got me thinking, well, why does it matter when
Nothing can ever be as it once has been?
You reminded me when you smiled at me,
So suddenly, I return to my dream of “could be”.
One day, I could be strong and tall,
And you’ll catch me when I fall.
One day, I will know what to do,
And good times surely would ensue.
One day, I’ll see the people that I miss.
One day, I’ll get that perfect kiss.
One day, someone will hold my hand.
One day, I’ll know they understand.
One day, I will reach to the sky and sing,
And all my troubles, I will fling
Out the door
To nevermore.
One day, I will be the person who I dream of in my head.
Do the things I should’ve done, and say what I should’ve said.
One day, I’ll be a teacher, and one day I’ll be a mom.
One day, I’ll make the A-team, and one day I’ll go to prom.
One day, I’ll fit in once again,
Maybe I’ll be happy then.
One day, things will be different,
I’ll believe that they said what they meant,
One day. Someday. Right now it feels so far away,
But I know that in the end, everything will be okay.
And one day, we will be happy. One day, we will belong.
One day, we will be together, One day, we will be strong.
One day, you will smile, and we will say,
We knew that this would happen
One day.
