Wave to the Wire
This wire I’ve dreamt up
that creates a connection between us
cannot fathom my heart sitting
weighing down the thin metallic
lifeline.
My brain twirls backwards
as I stand, shaky legs-
not a tight rope walker-
just someone who has unwillingly
surrenderd her heart to another
the wire can break
I can fall
possiblities of tragedies
multiply in my soul
I choose to let go,
regretting that I didn’t wave
goodbye.
