180 Degrees of Madness
My beautifully frayed arc of destruction
My hundred and eighty degrees of madness
Do you wonder how I feel when I raise my hand?
Do you wonder how I feel when I swing my fist?
I feel blind
Like I’m staring at the sun
Two seconds too long
I feel helpless
Like I’m opening my eyes underwater
And the salt burns like acid
I feel a loss of control
Not a feeling at all
Just an empty cavity
Where my black heart should be
I get so weak
But the weak fall apart
Crushed beneath the weight
Of his iron fist
So I take this strength from you
And I mold it
And I mangle it
And I lacerate it
I turn it to anger
I let it take flight
My soul slides from my body
There’s power in anger
