Swingset Chains
It's raining again,
the sun sets at my back.
Swingset chains hold me up,
keep me from falling,
from flying away.
It's the same old
run down play ground,
the one we've always gone to.
Played the same old games,
but now I'm here without you
Drops keep falling,
hit me as I swing.
Night sets in with that cold hard chill.
With the past on my mind
its hard to feel.
How high can we go?
How hard can we fall?
Are those stars just pictures
or is it all something more?
So many questions in the pouring down rain
All alone with my thoughts
and you on my mind
and I'm clinging to
these old swing set chains
