"If it would be revealed or demonstrated that there is no future state (heaven), my advice to every man, woman, and child would be, as our existence would be in our own power, to take opium." - John Adams

He was eccentric
She was insane
She had an agenda
And total reign

A threat of life
Left him feeling helpless
And trapped
Guilt keeping him
From ever taking a chance

Hours spent away
From a hoarder's home
Were the only times
When he seemed controlled

A double life
Was what he lived
Trying to protect himself
From the death of this world
His wife
No room for kids

Money piled up
Waiting to be spent
Only a year away
From retirement

At fifty-four
Healthy and fit
All the good habits
Couldn't save him.

Genetics
Took him
While he rest
Leaving her
A total wreck

In a vulnerable state
Incompetence came
Replacing her position
As ultimate Queen.

The Uncle that I never had a chance to meet passed away this summer and his death revealed many things about his life to our family. This poem is written in his memory.
