The Soldier Cries
The soldier, once so strong
The soldier, once so peaceful
The soldier, once had
courage.
The solider, once smiled
Now, that smile is gone
Far and never shown
The soldiers frown has been
on his face so long, its
permanent
Pain in his head, so many
would rather be dead
Fear fills his head
Tears fall from his eyes
He can't see happiness and
he can't see the positive side
He's seen so many die,
families torn apart
The soldier cries himself to
sleep
He remembers the young
boy he saw today
So young and handsome
Yet the soldier saw blood
And a helpless soul
Lying there, body so cold
Never saw a sadder image
And the soldier cries and cries
He replaces happiness with
pain, he tries to stay positive
Yet he can't
His bed has gotten so cold,
his spirit died, so old
And the soldier cries
