It's not about success; it's about significance.

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.

I’ve learned when it comes to love, trust no one.
I didn’t see my mistake until the damage was done.
Friendship seemed to be so trusting and loyal.
Little did I know that it would end in betrayal.
I should have known to fight this battle for myself
Instead of granting my emotions to the hands of someone else.
Because now it seems I have lost my chance
To ever experience my fantasized romance.
There is no amount of trust you could put in a friend
That the beauty of another could not bring to an end.
Now I know when it comes to love, trust no one.
I’ve learned from my mistake and the damage that was done.

This poem, which I recently wrote for English class, is based off a short passage in William Shakespeare's amazing play, "Much Ado About Nothing."
