Child, Rear Your Head and Laugh
When you are young they will ignore
Such a gesture of arrogance you see:
Once gaining years you only add onto your belt of
Supposed integrity and all that tension
Lines that draw back of any chance of
Carelessness and imperfection
A silvered head bent down is in deep thought though
You have only stopped to take a nap
They are reverent and hawkeyed-
Ready to pounce on the slightest quiver of a snore
Or the fumbling of old age,
So child,
Throw your vanities down the drain
Laugh
