Forgive And Forget

Trying to forgive and forget is harder than you'd think.
Who knew you could be that cruel?
Can't you just leave well enough be,
or at least stop torturing me?
I'm trying not to hold a grudge,
I'm trying not to care.
And I'm so close to succeeding,
and I'm so far from where I was.
But no matter how many times I tell you,
to please just leave me alone,
you just won't take me seriously.
But one thing you should've learned is
I always mean what I say.
