When the world was a jungle gym

Tag and hide-n-seek
Were vital parts of the day

Travel to the moments when
Friendships were forever
Because time never passed

And pinkie promises were law
The worst thing that could happen was time-out

Recall the days when
People were not scared to express themselves
The rain didn’t ruin girls’ hair
Jumping in mud puddles was expected
Being Super Man was a legitimate job
Nobody was ashamed of their dreams

The crooked tooth grins
That said nothing was impossible
Are gone now
Imaginations grounded
Everybody is hiding behind a mask
Reaching for the dreams of others
Striving for what is expected of them
Opposed to what they want
It’s time that everybody closes their eyes
