My Struggle
Grandpa Joe Hardin
Long nights of Crying in my bed
Wishing I was with you
My life is no longer needed
I want to be with you
But the only thing holding me back is Jesus
Jesus still has plans for my life
Since you have been gone I stay awake all night
My life is not the same without you
If I ever knew you like I wanted to
I would have wanted to be with you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year
I am an exact replica of you
All i have to remember you by is pictures and stories
Parents tell me, "You act just like your Grandpa Joe Hardin"
Tears roll down my brown-skinned cheeks
Prayers keep me sane
The pictures of you holding me
The pictures of you kissing me
The pictures. . . The pictures. . . The pictures
All of them just make me want to dig you out of the ground and give you life
I will do anything just so I can spend time with yo
To show you the intelligent young man i have grown to be
I thought you would see forever
but forever came to a devastating end
You left the world seven months after I was born
December 26 1994
The tragic loss of my grandpa that I wish I could see now
I love and miss you Grandpa Joe Hardin
