"According to some, heroic deaths are admirable things. (Generally those who don't have to do it. Politicians and writers spring to mind.) I've never been convinced by this argument, mainly because, no matter how cool, stylish, composed, unflappable, manly, or defiant you are, at the end of the day you're also dead. Which is a little too permanent for my liking." — Jonathan Stroud (Ptolemy's Gate)

I can hear the drums tap-tap-tapping
I can feel the earth shake under marching feet
I can see the bright light of exploding gunpowder

The gray transports carry them to the battlefield
The barrage is relentless
The soldiers are everywhere

Drumming out a tattoo
Marching out to Waterloo
Flashes of light split the night in two

And the little rain soldiers fight on

I was just really bored, so I'm surprised this is all you have to say about it and it's lack of.... poemness! lol Glad you liked the last line!

I like the idea of this poem, but I just didn't get a very strong feeling from it.  And the rhyming in the third stanza seemed forced and unnatural.  The last line was cool, though.

"Live your art" -made this one up myself. Simple, but true.

lol This make me laugh and I wouldn't have realized it was "rain soldiers" until the end. When I first started reading it the picture confused me then I was like ooooh. So creative!

See lyrics to "Let the Waters Rise" by MIKESCHAIR and "Everything" by Lifehouse

The ending made me laugh. XD I love how you built up the tension and then revealed the fact that these particular soldiers are raindrops. I also love how you used repetition in "tap-tap-tapping." Is there any way you could incorporate more of this?

Live for today, not for tomorrow

I like the flow! You should continue it! The rhyming is good. It ends too abruptly though and I'm wondering what happens next.
