Peel back my smile,
to see my insides.
white spirals together
rots around the edges.
I am nervous for the.
soft edges to wash away
in layers.
small particles flake,
fall to the floor. brush
away. continue leaking
My white fades yellow,
bruises and
cuts straight down the middle,
find the heart.
If tenderness expands,
smell crawling into pores
angering tear ducts.
veins inflamed, it
tears my eyes.
imperfection --
the softness of skin.
peeled film
imprinted picture.
too strong for me.
