Creatures
Never before have I been so afraid.
Creatures of every shape and size
are flooding the city's streets.
Here they come, marching one by one.
Don't look them in the eyes
because all of a sudden, you can't breathe.
The urge to touch their pale skin
feels too much like a sin,
oh but I must, I will.
And just like that
my heart was on fire.
My mind went blank
and my soul left it's body.
I was nothing.
I was something
but not myself anymore.
Oh, I was one of them;
another soldier battling in war.
