Firelight
In deepening dusk, in the dead of night
And with the dying of embers of light
Thin line of blood trickling down my forearm
Pain laughing in my mind with a cruel charm
Tomorrow it told me, I’d have a scar
Run away, it whispered, go long and far
Escape from this evil place while you may
Before war, or you are caught in the fray
Do what you have to, and do what you must
For in a ruined world, there is no trust
Fight the illusions, and see through the lies
Forego all your bonds, break your earthly ties
Careful, light is dimming, the blood will not sate
Make the right choice, for your death lies in wait
