That face was so warm, so inviting. It swept me up in its waves of heat. I was intrigued, no shame no fear. That face wrapped me up in its cobra hold. I made it smile, made it laugh. Until that day the face asked me to be its pet. I thought a joke, a trial from this lovely face that’s all this was. No smile crossed its face. No wrinkles gathered around its nose, no soft smile or glow. Only a need to kill struck its face. I would not be buffalo for it to chase, nor the sun just to warm its face. So I turned my eyes away, because all it ever was was a face.
