Not So Perfect Picture
Heartbroken once again,
now I am my only friend.
Sticks and stones won't break my bones
but this pain will never end.
I gave up my happiness
for something that doesn't exist.
Getting more of something you have
is not possible to persist.
I always said I wanted someone
to be here for me all the time,
but I don't even deserve a man
who commited the worst crime.
Perfection doesn't exist,
I've learned that from my mistakes.
I've struggled to find myself
with every painstaking breath I take.
Betrayed; I said I'd listen
to every note and every word.
You can't be yourself when
all your speech is slurred.
I tried to paint a perfect picture
but I changed my mind.
You can' t ever want something
that is impossible to find.
