They're our silent companions
The ones who can comfort us without words
Without a gentle touch
Just their presence is comfort enough
I can't say everyone has had this connection
I can say, when one does it's hard to let go
He couldn't hug me
Ir tell me it would be okay
But he could offer a friendship no person could
He was not human but who cares?
He was my guidance
He was the one who I could say anything to and he wouldn't scold or judge.
My friend, it takes time to heal these wounds
And they never fade,
Just scars to remind us,
That no matter what happens they'll be there with us
I'm sorry you had to feel my pain,
I'm sorry you mow know how I feel,
It's not just a horse,
or a hamster
But a friend
A best friend
You'll see him again, I promise you.
Just like I will see my beloved Dude.

I am writing this, on the night of my friend, Madison's hamster's death. They were close, just like brother and sister, just like I had a strong bond to a horse, Dude.
RIP: Sumo The biter, the hamster, the best friend August 30th 2010

Madison, this isn't over, its not the end. Its a new beginning, a sad one but a new one.
