Mirror, Mirror on the Wall
I stare into this piece of glass,
Introspection at its best,
Hoping this feeling will just pass,
Soon to give my soul a rest.
But thoughts just go on and on,
Imperfections left and right.
What would happen if it all was gone?
Down that drain without a fight.
The person in the glass says I would be lonely
All you would have is me.
But I say there is more left if I be willing,
More than meets the eye you see.
A fire coming from my heart,
Stronger than any flaw.
Burning away that person by the part
Who says I’m just all wrong.
And so I take that glass,
I throw it all away.
At last, at last
My soul no more dismayed.
