Shooting Star
Last night I saw a shooting star
And I watched it pass by.
I thought of you slightly
Knowing you’d love to see it too.
It’s beauty as it shot across the sky,
Left my heart warm inside.
No loneliness, pain, or shame,
Just joy and comfort.
It’s amazing what one sky can do,
By unknowingly changing
The feelings inside someone…
But it’s even more amazing that a
Single meteoroid that flies
Through Earth’s atmosphere,
Crumbling apart,
Can make so many people feel blissful.
I look up once more at the shooting star
Striking the sky with light,
Feeling so free in spirit,
So light on my feet, so content with all I am.
This shooting star content with it’s demise
As it crumbles to nothing
Leaving no more strikes of light in the sky,
Has changed my feelings and my heart inside.
