Not My Pain
Someone once told me my pain was a joke,
A mere chuckle tickling the back of their throat.
Someone once called my suffering a lie.
Compared to theirs, what pains have I?
Someone once told me that I had no right to the pain,
So I killed myself just to start again.
When I came back from where I went,
Someplace that might be called Hell,
I turned to them and said, “How about now?”
