Waves
The waves are
Crashing and
Pulling and
Breaking the shore
And the silence in my heart
Becomes a violent storm
The constant vibrations of the tide
That used to relax me
Now make my head sore
And the heat that should be here
Has been replaced by shivers
And hoodies,
Sweatpants and blankets
That cover me up from the cold.
I pull the covers over my face
And pray for silence
Because it’s been a crazy war inside my head
For days
What to do
What to say
When to stop
When to stay
Will the questions in my head
The empty in my heart
The aching in my bones
The yearning for your closeness,
Will the heartbreak
And the distress
The crazy wanting of your body
The constant craziness
Will that ever go away?
