Drifter
She jumps out the window and onto the street
She runs and screams
She escapes me
It elates me how she runs
The fun she has in leaving
Quitting their games
Forgetting the names that
She never wanted to remember in the first place
And I never wanted to feel
Like I was intruding in her space
But she doesnt accept my apologies
She just drifts so far away
So far that she cant hear me when I cry out
“Take me with you!”
She just drifts on by
She’s in a daze
She’s so out of this place
Been missing for days
And not one person is aware
They dont care
They all just drift on by
Drifting past, a quick glance
Not worth the time
