Windows
Sounds of coughing, crying, talking
Seeing people laugh, or weep
The thrum of machinery, it is the
Heartbeat of this world
Sunlight through the windows
Touches faces, touches souls
That long to be out,
Out in this city
That I can only see
Through windows
Cars booming, feet tapping
Snow falling
Whiteness
People longing, they long for
Color
Spring
Joy
People here, in this world,
They are sad, but they still
Laugh,
They still sing,
And
Hope, but there is sorrow, and the dreary
Grey, it seeps into the soul
Of people,
Like me,
Who can only see this world
Through windows
