Raining
Snippets of an impending storm peaking
Through the green
Leaves of the oak tree, giving
A sense of
Nothing-good-ever-lasts, and then
Rain drops begin to gently
Tickle my nose and linger
Before rolling down my back.
It’s not what I expected though,
Not the sadness which
Seemed doomed to come.
It’s beautiful,
A cool mist covering
The hills in the distance
While I let the rain
Fall on me and let it
Give me a samll sense of
Peace in my life just for
A few minutes as I walk
In the rain,
Speaking of all that I have in life,
All that I want,
All that I don’t have, yet
Raining just for a little while,
Just while I’m here,
Life tastes good
