Perhaps Because MAG
Ivy wound 'round a filigree
Of iron bars ahead
Barring a pathway to a garden
All its flowers dead.
Petals brown and pitiful
Scattered 'cross the ground
A mosaic past its glory
Waiting to be found
Fountains cracked and filthy,
Dirt all streaked across
The once-ago pristine marble
Coated now in moss
Little tufts of grass
Pushing up in flower beds
An innocent, ugly substitute
In the sunny flowers' stead
It's unclear why the happiness
Is spreading 'cross my face
Perhaps because (when life was gone)
New life took its place
