Burnt Brownies and Bobby Socks
I am from burnt brownies in the microwave
From itchy bobby socks and dresses
I am from decorative Longaberger baskets
From skeleton keys found in the basement
With no importance in the world
Just linger there, untouched
I am from Barbie dolls and Playdoh
From terrifying basements full of goblins
I am from crazy grandmas with nine cats
From bedtime stories of Chrysanthemum with Madre
I am from creaking hallways at midnight
From "Jenny Craig" moments in the car
That will remain forever
A part of me
I am from stuffed animlas that lay on my bed
From obnoxious pink rooms
I am from towering wardrobes
From no room to fit my books
I am from empty collage photo frames
Waiting to be filled
With memories abundant of bliss
My past and present
With agony and glee
Evovles into beauty
Like a grain of sand
Will flourish into pearls
