Ripples
Sweet innocence
A summer of adventure
And self discovery
The shy yet sweet girl
Who didn’t seem to fit in
Found who she wants to be.
She found herself
Once lost and insecure
Scared of proving herself
Not to herself but
To everyone else.
No one wanted to hear
Her soft, timid voice so
She kept quiet; mistaken for mute.
Her feelings she hides,
Dreams she can’t find.
She can’t seem to find
Her place in the world
She thinks she’s lost inside;
Falling from grace and all over the place.
Her hair would hide her face,
Insecurities worn on her sleeve.
All of these elements racing thru
Her mind as she sat at the
Lake, arms around her knees,
Face hidden from the world
While the ripples expand its tranquility
