I said I love you back then
You were the rooster to my hen
But now I say that I miss you
And to this day it remains true.

I don't feel much
I don't even have the sense of touch.
It all disappeared
When I was in that car
And I had to veer
Off the side of that road

I was the one that drove
You're the one who told me to drive into the cove.
I shouldn't have listened
I shouldn't have been wishin'
That all those things would happen.

But when we got into that empty lot
I didn't give anything much thought
I thought about you and you alone
I threw out my car keys, my wallet, my phone
You were my one and only
Back then you weren't a phonie
But I don't know what to call you anymore.

Now you're only a memory
A flashback of what used to be
Now you're gone, gone forever
And when will I ever see you again?
Never

I said I love you back then
You were the rooster to my hen
But now I say that I miss you
And to this day it remains true.
