picnic
It’s a perfect day for a picnic
I think to myself
The sun illuminates the colors
And the sky is brilliant sapphire
I sing a merry tune
And gather the meal ingredients
Planning it out in my head
This is going to be a remarkable picnic
But I cannot dine alone
How dull that would be!
An addition for the picnic is sought
But alas the world is too busy for me
The basket is packed
And the wine is corked
My companion is a worn novel
The voice of nature is soothing as well
It is not so lonely after all
The fresh air has been much needed
And the food is exquisite
I am content on this perfect day for a picnic
