Can You Fix My Heart?
Sometimes a needle and thread can’t fix a broken heart.
In improper hands, it can’t even sew up a tear in fabric.
So, tell me, can you fix my heart?
Are you skilled with a needle, a piece of thread, and a million pieces?
How long will it take? I heard broken hearts could be hard to fix.
My heart won’t last very long, you see.
First, it was torn in half, vertically, right down the center.
Then, he came and shredded it until you couldn’t read the letters.
Every word written upon my heart, imbedded in perfect letters,
dripped from its tears and stained the soft earth of our secret place.
If hope was ever held in the heart, I’d be dead, but I’m still alive.
So, work your magic. I heard you love to mend.
Make sure not to add too much stuffing, though.
I don’t want to be left with a heavy heart.
