Month Poem; July
July is the best month.
A perfect mix of hot air and wind
surrounds you, creating the
perfect summer atmosphere.
Afternoon barbeques in the neighbor’s backyard,
slowly dragging out into the warm summer nights.
Making smore’s on the fire pit.
Midnight walks around the block,
cherishing the last weeks of summer.
Catching those Kodak moments with friends,
while the crackling of the fire is merely background noise
to the backyard chatter of close family and friends.
Melted marshmallows and fallen debris scatter the fire pit,
many memories to behold within them.
I sit,
counting the stars,
basking in the warm glow of the fire,
embracing summer until it slowly fades away,
