Locked in the Night
I saw the sunrise this morning
Golden, glowing,
Magnificent
A new day
Spreading on the horizon
But you don't want to
See the sunrise
You refuse to, prefering instead
To stay locked away
In the night, the only light coming
From the moon, and
The street lamps by your house
You refuse, and yet you wonder
Why you can never see the sun
