Onwards
Passing on, a shooting star –
Dancing ‘cross the sky
Onwards to the land afar
Slipping out a sigh
Rocking back with eyes closed tight
Keeping away the truth
What’s done is done; no need to fight –
What’s lost may just be youth
Easing heartstrings full of tears
Gently letting go
Of memories kept over years
Because of what you know –
Life lives on forever
In the fibers of the soul
Leaving only when they’re severed
From the fibers of the whole
Waving to the star
As it passes ‘cross the sky
Onwards to the land afar
With no clear reason why

So I know she forgives me, just as I forgive her. Thomas Edison's last words were: "It's very beautiful over there." I don't know where there is, but I believe it's somewhere, and I hope it's beautiful.<br /> --John Green, Looking for Alaska
