Monarch mustiness settles over the peach blossoms,
Blowing over the sweet honeysuckle
Battered in air by the hummingbird wings
And the sun lifts in arms of pale light.

Our legs are swift past Glencoe, past Ayr
Through simmering, silver streams, rushing as a
Banshee through the start of day, past pushes
Of wind calling our names.

And they claim our hearts, entangled between
The grapevines we steer clear of, neglecting the simple
Fact that we love each other, and need
each other
Like a poem needing words.

Otherwise, there's no print at all.

Just emptiness – well, except for the heart of the poem.

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem a few weeks ago just before I went to bed...it's springtime now in Paris, and the evenings are a little bit lighter, so I had the perfect ambiance to write this poem.

your word choice is excellent and I like the flow you've created, definetly a great poem.
