Levels, Plateaus, Landings. Lines.
I want you
I want you here
I want you now
I want to kiss
I want to hold
I want you
I need you
I write and I speak
I try and grasp
Somehow I am never enough
I can never live up to
My own expectations
Or yours
(Apparently)
But I am trying
My wants and needs converge
Become one, so that
All I give equals that which I take
That we might be equal and both safe
So we may both hold
We may both want
We may both kiss
We may both need
We may both speak
So life is a gift to us
And love is a Truth
We accept and cherish
(Never take for granted)
But hold fast to
For today and one thousand tomorrows
Til the sun refuses to set
Til the moon stays in the sky forever
Til stars smile
And clouds laugh
Til I have you in my arms
And eternally lay on the undying grass
On this unending night
In this never ceasing Season
Summer will always be with Us
(At least within our Hearts)
